Hardy and Cole
Adam Cole attacks Jeff Hardy before the bell rings. Jeff Hardy is selling the attack as Adam Cole stays on the attack. We cut to picture in picture. During the commercial, Hardy tries to fight back, but Adam Cole is one step ahead of him each time.
Cole reverts back to rest holds each time. After the break, Hardy begins fighting back. He goes for a Whisper in the Wind, but he misses. Cole tries to hit him with a Superkick mid-flip, but the timing was all off.
Hardy hits a Twist of Fate, a neck breaker, and goes for the Swanton Bomb. He misses. Cole hits The Boom. Adam Cole advances to the next round of The Owen.
After the match, The Hardys get attacked by Cole and The Bucks. Darby and Sting come down to make the save, but ReDRagon try to make the save. The Young Bucks try to Double Superkick Sting, but they hit him in the shoulders instead of the head. They then wrap a chair around Sting’s ankle and O’Reilly stomps it to take out Sting. This feels like we’re heading to an 8-man tag of some sort. Who knows???
There were really strong points (Page/Punk and MJF/Wardlow). There were some less than stellar moments. Overall, this show didn’t quite hit the mark for me.

Joker Number 2
Who will it be facing Britt Baker? It’s Maki Itoh. They were tag partners at one time and now they are facing off. Not that I don’t like Maki Itoh, but this isn’t exactly the massive surprise I was expecting in the women’s tournament.
The majority of this match was during the picture in picture commercial break. Britt Baker wins with the Lockjaw. Itoh got in a few moves including a nice little falling headbutt and a middle finger in the face.
However, Baker was fairly dominant throughout. Baker advances to the next round in the Owen. She’ll be facing Toni Storm. Toni comes out and stares down Baker.
Tony Schiavone gets in the ring and says that next week will be the 3 year anniversary of AEW. Before he can finish his thoughts, Serena Deeb comes out. She tells Tony he’s an idiot because he picked Thunder Rosa in their upcoming match. Deeb calls out Dustin.
She’s mad at him as well for picking Rosa. After she talks some trash and talks about coming up in a time that was difficult for women. She wants respect for doing so.
Eventually, Thunder Rosa comes out. Dustin holds her back. Rosa accidentally drills him in the face with an Elbow. As she’s checking on him, Deeb drills Rosa with the belt in the head.
This segment was not good. Deeb and Rosa’s best qualities are between the bells. Instead of letting them showcase their skills through physicality, this feud has been built through words. I believe this is a misstep in how they’ve booked this one.

JAS vs. BCC
Jericho and William Regal are facing off. Regal, Eddie Kingston, Moxley, Santana, Ortiz, and Danielson are in the ring. JAS comes out on the stage.
Jericho says he thought Regal would be dead by now. Regal just chuckles it off. Jericho says he should have been a champ, but he was just an addict. Jericho insults every member of the crew in the ring.
Regal gets an opportunity to respond. Regal says he has taken Jericho’s toothbrush and stuck it up his butt on every show he’s ever been on with him. Jericho wants to challenge them to Stadium Stampede.
Moxley says no. He says it is going to be 5 on 5 in the arena. It’s going to be in front of fans. He says it’s a gang fight. It’s going to be anything goes. Kingston is going to go after Jericho, but Danielson stops him. Will the group be able to get along?
Backstage, Sydal and Donte Martin challenge BCC to a match on Rampage.

Kyle O'Reilly vs. Rey Fenix in the Owen
Rey Fenix and Kyle O’Reilly are squaring off in the Owen. Talk about a clash of styles. Fenix is the epitome of high flying. O’Reilly is a technical wizard.
Prior to the match, Roppongi Vice is back together full time and want to challenge for The ROH Tag Titles. They challenge FTR to a match.
Fenix unleashes a high-flying attack. O’Reilly takes a big bump on the outside. He fights back. O’Reilly start attacking the arm that had the injury that led to Fenix being out for a few months.
Both of these guys are so good. Fenix hits some kicks and strikes. O’Reilly counters with suplexes and submissions. They then exchange strikes. Both men hit open hand slaps to the other’s face. They both fall out.
I don’t even know how to describe the fighting spirit exchange they had accurately. At the end, Fenix hits a tight rope hurricanrana onto O’Reilly who was on the apron. Both men get back in the ring and Fenix goes for a springboard DDT. O’Reilly catches him and puts him in the armbar. Eventually, Fenix has to tap.
O’Reilly moves on to face Samoa Joe in the next round of the open. That was a great, action-packed match. I didn’t want either to lose.
