Royal Rumble Winner Cody Rhodes Kicks Off WWE Raw With Challenge

The winner of the 2023 Men’s Royal Rumble Cody Rhodes kicked off tonight’s (January 30) WWE Raw with a challenge for Roman Reigns.

After taking time to make his typically epic entrance, the American Nightmare was really back on WWE Raw after months out of action after injury.

During his oratory exhibition, Rhodes addressed his history in the WWE, discussing his vivid memory of his first day pulling up to Ohio Valley Wrestling.

Feeling as though he was on the cusp of becoming the next biggest WWE superstar, Cody noted that at nineteen years old not only was he certain he was destined for greatness, he anticipated it coming soon.

Within two years, he was sure he would be WWE Champion.

Detailing the winding road from that point forward including dropping sweet references to both wife Brandi and daughter Libby, Cody then turned his attention from the past to the present.

Noting that WWE had more than one royal family, his upcoming bout against Roman Reigns in 62 days at WrestleMania marked a culmination of history between the two dynasties.

Although Cody’s promo was punctuated by his challenge for the Tribal Chief, he was then joined by Judgment Day to set up the show’s main event.

While Rhodes accepted a challenge to take on any member of Judgment Day, they soon had more trouble on their hands as Edge ran out to attack.
