10 AEW World Champions In Waiting

7. Big Swole

Is there anyone more fun to watch in an AEW ring than Big Swole? Possessing an impressive resume of iconic blood feuds in which she has always come out on top, it seems high time this powerful woman receives her run in the sun.

There is no one quite like her currently waving the AEW banner in the women’s division.

The smile she wears to the ring and her dances, in both preparation and celebration, are no substitute for the passionate rage that escapes from her when the bell rings.

She’s vocal about what matters to her, and beyond anything wrestling adjacent, that’s what fans relate to most.

Show me a champion who can reach through the screen and grab fans by the collar in that way, and I’ll show you one that goes down in history as one of the true greats. Big Swole can be that champion.

6. Jungle Boy

All Elite Wrestling’s ultimate babyface has proven time and time again that the belief in him from the early days was not a mistake. It’s hard to find fault in their logic, isn’t it? He really does have it all.

He’s easy to cheer for, impossible to hate, and possesses a heart just as big and wonderful as that smile of his.

Intangibles aside, marquee matches like those against MJF, Chris Jericho, and Kenny Omega only serve as fleeting examples of what will surely be hundreds before he’s finished.

Matched against a truly despised heel, one who can play off JB’s fluid motion and seamless transitions, the sky is the limit.

He’s a guy that genuinely seems as though everything he does on TV is just fun – things he’s been dreaming about since childhood – and fans eat that up.

A world champion who can do that AND leave the fans always wanting more in the ring is timeless.

5. Jamie Hayter

She may have only just arrived in All Elite Wrestling, but one look at Jamie Hayter’s resume and you’ll undoubtedly see a future world champion looking back at you. She possesses so much of what so many companies value in their very top stars.

Handpicked by AEW’s dastardly dentist herself and hailed as someone who would both protect and decimate, Jamie walks with some serious expectations on her shoulders. Early on, it’s easy to see why.

From ring presence, to her strong style integration on the division, to selling at a master level for her opponents – she does so much well. To be blunt, it is clear that she just gets it.

Even as a heel, the almost cult-like following she is garnering in AEW sets her up perfectly for a monster run at the top. It’s only a matter of time.

4. MJF

A countless army of AEW fans are collectively dreading the day that MJF finally realizes his destiny in the business he’s always wanted to sit at the top of. As hated as anyone in all of professional wrestling, Max is the greatest heel in recent memory.

These types of generational talents are made and nearly legitimately bred for championship programs. He’s proven already repeatedly that his future is gold and that it awaits him imminently.

Just ask Chris Jericho. Ask Cody Rhodes. Ask Jon Moxley. Anyone who enters the ring with Max may look across at their opponent and see a mere punchable face. With gold though, even they must acknowledge the legend growing before their eyes.

The future is better than you. We may as well get used to it now.
