10 Best WWE Finishers

6. End of Days – Baron Corbin

Interestingly, Shelton Benjamin’s Paydirt finisher – which is effectively an End of Days without the leaning tilt beforehand – made yesterday’s ’10 Worst Finishers in WWE‘ list. There’s something about the way Baron Corbin does it, however, that just makes it look so much more brutal.

Corbin has never been heralded as technically gifted between the ropes but when it comes to finishers, he’s got some of the best and his End of Days takes the cake. It also maintains two key factors that can make or break any great finisher. For starters, it is rarely kicked out of, keeping its value. As well as this, it generally comes out of nowhere which is always a plus. What’s more, however, is that because of the leaning tilt to start the move, everyone in the arena, including his opponent, gets a second to grasp that it’s coming and there’s no stopping it. Well done, Bazza.

5. Gulock – Drew Gulak

I’m not sure whether this is pure bias or not because Drew Gulak is one of my favorite wrestlers and the Dragon Sleeper is my favorite submission maneuver. Then again, it’s my list so who cares? Seriously though, look at this move being applied and tell me it doesn’t look like it absolutely sucks to take.

What has pushed this finisher into the top five, however, isn’t how great it looks or how much I love Drew. It is that he does it to end matches on 205 Live. The ‘Land of the Cruiserweights’. The ‘Most Exciting Hour on Television’. A show that highlights its talents’ aerial abilities and Gulak is there telling everyone to stay grounded by locking them in a submission maneuver on the mat in the middle of the ring. It’s just perfect.
