Shawn Michaels Will Face Daniel Bryan For The WWE Championship
So Bálor doesn’t win the Rumble and with the rumblings that a repeat winner could be the last man standing at the 2019 Royal Rumble match, Michaels – a 1995 and 1996 Rumble winner- could be a surprise entrant and remain the last man standing at the end of the night.
Let’s just say as of now, it’s a repeat winner.

This does contradict Michaels stating that his last match was at Crown Jewel but ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ could explain that he wants to be champion one last time and thus decided to try his luck with the Royal Rumble.
However, Michaels doesn’t have to win the Rumble to get a WWE championship title match. Michaels returned due to the lack of respect he felt from the Undertaker and Kane.
Being the man who trained Daniel Bryan, Michaels may confront the WWE champion about his lack of respect for his peers over the last several months. Bryan can dismiss Michaels’ words and attack the WWE legend. A storyline like this can easily culminate into Michaels challenging Bryan for the WWE championship at WrestleMania 35.
I more so see Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels III happening at Mania, but there’s a strong story that can be told given the history between Bryan and Michaels with the former WWE champion putting over a younger talent at the same time.
