British wrestling has been riding a wave of success for several years, with promotions such as ICW, PROGRESS and RevPro building on the work of the FWA and 1PW to help the scene go from looked down upon afterthought to a legitimate pro wrestling hotbed.
WWE obviously took note and opted for the UK to be the first stop of many in its international expansion plans with the launch of NXT UK in late 2016.
In addition to WWE snaring several top British indy stars for NXT UK there are others flying the flag far and wide, such as Will Ospreay and Zack Sabre Jr. in NJPW, Marty Scurll and Mark Haskins in ROH and Kip Sabian, Sadie Gibbs, Bea Priestley and Jimmy Havoc in AEW.
Never in history have so many British wrestlers been such major players in international wrestling.
Despite the sheer amount of BritWres talent currently plying their trades away from the UK independent circuit, the scene remains as strong as ever. Here are ten names from the circuit that could and should be performing on the grandest of stages.
