10. Diva Search 2
WWE announced this past week that they would be starting a new reality TV show to find the next female WWE star, which to anyone who lived through the attitude era may have rung a few bells.
First airing in 2003, WWE created a show called Diva search, which, as may be obvious, was a search for the next diva. The show featured plenty of future WWE stars like Candice Michelle, Maria Kanellis, Maryse and the Bellas, and it wasn’t exactly what you would call a rigorous test to find the next female athlete.
Competitions were largely based on which of the women was most willing to take off the most clothes, and as the winner was voted for by the WWE Universe, which is largely men, it was basically a beauty pageant.
While we’re sure this latest search for a female star will be different and a whole lot less sexist, the fact that it’s a reality show suggests that it will basically be Total Divas with a few competitions thrown in. Can’t wait…
