10 Greatest WWE Survivor Series Matches Of All Time

9. Raw Tag Teams vs. SmackDown Tag Teams (2016)

This match featured five tag teams from Raw and five tag teams from SmackDown competing in a ten-on-ten elimination match. Raw‘s team was comprised of then-Raw Tag Team Champions the New Day (Big E & Kofi Kingston), Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson, Primo & Epico, Enzo & Cass, and Sheamus & Cesaro. Conversely, SmackDown‘s team featured the likes of then-SmackDown Tag Team Champions Heath Slater & Rhyno, the Usos, Zack Ryder & Mojo Rawley, Tyler Breeze & Fandango, and Chad Gable & Jason Jordan.

The match was contested under team-elimination rules wherein if one member of a tag team was eliminated, both members were out of the match. While the amount of people caused things to feel a little cluttered, the match was still a fun time with lots of action.

Right out of the gate there were two shock eliminations as the New Day eliminated Breeze and Fandango immediately before being eliminated by the Usos. The remaining 14 wrestlers took turns performing big spots where they could shine in a packed match. The match did fall victim to one of the old gripes about Survivor Series matches, that being that despite a decent length of 18 minutes that still meant that there were nine eliminations in quick fashion. That averaged around an elimination every two minutes.

The match came down to Sheamus & Cesaro vs. the Usos. Sheamus and Cesaro had only been a team for roughly two months after having feuded during the summer and were a hot act in Toronto that night. Proving their ability to work as a team, Sheamus hit the Brogue kick on Jimmy as Jey submitted to Cesaro’s Sharpshooter. The match was a fun, exciting tag bout that set the scene for much bigger things later that night.
