10 Hangman Page Matches You NEED To See

10. Hangman Page vs. Kenny Omega – NJPW Wrestling Dontaku Day One 2018

Hangman Page is set to be one of wrestling’s biggest stars. He is one of AEW’s most popular wrestlers and he is involved in their best storyline with Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks. With his star on the rise, here we will take a look back at his ten most must-see matches to date.

First up is the match between Page and his current tag team partner, Kenny Omega. In 2018, Bullet Club was in pieces. Cody was leading his faction of rebels against Omega and Hangman Page was effectively Cody’s second in command. This led to the only singles match between Page and Omega to date at Wrestling Dontaku.

While it would be a little much to call this a breakthrough performance, this was Page’s first singles main event in New Japan Pro Wrestling and he more than kept up with 2018’s wrestler of the year. The two had a very good main event and this was one of the matches that helped Page step up to a main event level.

9. Hangman Page & Kenny Omega vs. SoCal Uncensored – AEW Dynamite (January 22, 2020)

How times have changed. Less than two years after battling at Wrestling Dontaku, Omega and Page won the AEW World Tag Team Championships. The moment is a historic one as this marked the first title change in AEW history. Not to mention it took place on a boat. However, it is worth mentioning that the match itself was great too.

Omega and Page had been working through their issues prior to this match so there was added tension there. While there were a few close calls, they were able to pull out the win and earn the titles in a fantastic battle. Omega and Page became a truly engaging tag team and by the time they defeated Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky fans were behind them.

8. Hangman Page vs. Jeff Cobb – ROH Final Battle 2018

When Hangman Page walked into Ring of Honor he was a nobody. After his final match with Jeff Cobb at Final Battle in 2018, he left as a star. The Elite left the promotion after this show and Page was pegged to be one of the top stars of AEW. For a last match, you can’t ask for a much better one than his match with Cobb.

Page had famously never won a singles title in ROH and wanted to change that before leaving. He had his sights set on Cobb’s ROH TV Title but unfortunately, Cobb proved to be too much for him. They had a very hard-hitting impressive match, considering how tough both men are that should come as no surprise. This was one of the best matches on one of ROH’s last amazing pay per views to date so do yourself a favour and go check it out.
