10 Jeff Hardy Matches You Must Watch

10 Jeff Hardy Matches You Must Watch

10. Jeff Hardy vs. Umaga – Raw (January 7, 2008)

Jeff Hardy has been one of the most popular people in wrestling since the 90s. His charisma and daredevil tactics have helped him reach the mountain top on more than one occasion and now we will break down the ten matches you must watch from his career.

The first match on the list is a clash with Umaga on Raw from 2008. Hardy recently named Umaga as his favourite opponent and judging by this match you can see why. There was great drama involved as Randy Orton was at ringside shouting down Hardy. Meanwhile, Umaga took Hardy down with ease but could not keep him down. Hardy was eventually able to hit the best Whisper in the Wind ever off the top of the cage for the win.

This match holds up as one of the best Raw matches of its era and it is still one of the best matches of either man’s career.

9. Jeff Hardy vs. Kurt Angle – TNA No Surrender 2010

This match likely would have ranked higher if not for the finish. Hardy and Kurt Angle were fighting in the semi-finals of the TNA Championship tournament and they had a classic match at No Surrender. Hardy is often put in the position to do crazy stunts in Cage, Ladder, and TLC matches but this was a time where his wrestling shined.

Having Angle there to be your opponent helps as well. The match went to a time limit draw, which sucked the air out of the building. They did their best and ended up both advancing in the tournament but this would have placed higher if we had gotten a winner.

8. Jeff Hardy vs. Triple H – No Mercy 2008

As far as a straight one-on-one wrestling match, this is as good as it gets with Jeff Hardy. His match with Triple H at No Mercy 2008 helped solidify him as a main event talent in WWE. He had had brief runs in main event feuds before but this was where he stepped up and shined. Hardy and Triple H meshed very well together and their match at No Mercy depicted them as equals.

Hardy nearly won his first WWE Championship on this night but Triple H managed to reverse a pin into one of his own to retain the title. It is an excellent little gem of a match on a very good pay per view.
