10 Matches WWE Needs To Book For WrestleMania 36

7. Goldberg vs. Matt Riddle

If WWE is smart, they will book Matt Riddle vs. Goldberg for WrestleMania 36.

Riddle took shots at Goldberg on social media for the majority of 2019. The former UFC star has even been using some of Goldberg’s signature moves on NXT TV in recent weeks.

If the report is true and NXT is going to have a presence at the Royal Rumble, perhaps Matt Riddle could be eliminated by a returning Goldberg, setting up a huge WrestleMania match.

NXT saw a massive bump in viewers following Survivor Series, so imagine the viewership numbers for the black and gold brand if Goldberg appears on an episode of NXT leading up to WrestleMania 36.

The feud has money written all over it and Matt Riddle should obviously go over. A fast-paced five-minute match similar to Goldberg’s clash with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 33 is actually a pretty mouth-watering prospect.

6. New Day (c) vs. The Revival vs. The Usos – SmackDown Tag Team Championship

With The Usos returning to WWE a few weeks ago, SmackDown was given the boost of one of the company’s top tag teams. Having The Usos, The Revival and New Day means arguably the three best teams in WWE right now are on the blue brand.

Taking that into consideration, it would be silly for WWE to book a match that doesn’t involve three teams. The Revival vs. Authors of Pain vs. DIY match from NXT a few years back proved that three-way tag matches can work.

I would have The Usos and The Revival trade wins leading up to WrestleMania, perhaps even drawing in a number one contenders match, with the idea being that the two teams are neck-and-neck.

Then WWE could book a three-way match for the titles. As a bit of a sucker for tag team wrestling, the match would be one of the more exciting ones on the card.

Perhaps even booking a serious tag match for WrestleMania might prove to The Revival that tag team wrestling can be taken seriously by WWE, incentivising them to re-sign with the company.

5. Tommaso Ciampa vs. Johnny Gargano – NXT Championship

It was reported several weeks ago that NXT is set to have a ‘strong presence’ at this year’s WrestleMania, and there are no two men better to represent the black and gold brand on the grandest stage of them all than Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa.

It is widely believed that Tommaso Ciampa will defeat Adam Cole for NXT Championship at NXT TakeOver: Tampa Bay on 04/04. If this report is to be believed, he should walk into WrestleMania the following night and defend his title against his long-time rival and best friend Johnny Gargano.

To set up the match, Gargano could defeat Finn Balor the night before in a number one contenders match, giving their feud some big stakes.

Gargano and Ciampa stole the show in all of the TakeOvers they have been part of, a big-time match at WrestleMania only seems like a fair reward for their stellar work over the last few years.

4. Buddy Murphy & Seth Rollins vs. Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe

In what I believe could prove to be a genius move, the closing moments of the 01/13 Raw saw Buddy Murphy join forces with AOP and Seth Rollins during their Fist Fight with Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe and Big Show.

While it seems like Big Show is going to be written off TV now, the feud between the faction and Joe & Owens is set to continue.

I would be surprised if Rollins, Joe, Owens and Murphy are part of the Royal Rumble and possibly even Elimination Chamber, allowing WWE to delay an eventual blowoff match between these four men.

This match could either be a tag team match pitting Murphy and Rollins against Owens and Joe, or two sets of singles matches, either way, this needs to happen.

Putting Buddy in a high-profile Mania match like this could do wonders for his career, and being paired with a guy like Seth Rollins will only help him reach his insane potential.

The story in this feud has been told really well and these four guys would likely put on a show-stealing match, making his really a no-brainer for WWE.
