10. CM Punk Return Actually Confirmed
So. Yeah. Maybe I cried at this one. Like a lot. Captured for all to see for all time on our Rampage live reactions that night.
After seven long years away from the professional wrestling business – changing the culture with WWE Backstage aside – a jam packed United Centre in Chicago knew the worst kept secret in wrestling was about to become public: CM Punk was back. Back in a wrestling ring, back in the sport of pro rasslin’, and back in front of fans with All Elite Wrestling.
It was emotional not just for Punk, who was immediately overcome on making his long awaited entrance, with tears in his eyes, but also for me watching at home and, this guy in the crowd, who oddly became a subject of debate whether it’s ok for adults to cry at wrestling. Bully Ray says grow up you nancy!
Punk could have just made his entrance and it would have been one of the best moments ever, but his passionate and emotional promo somehow took it to another level.
