10 More Amazing WWE Feuds To Binge Watch In Isolation

7. TJ Perkins vs. The Odds

Key Matches:

  • The entire Cruiserweight Classic.

Remember that one glorious summer where Zack Sabre Jr. and Kota Ibushi both wrestled in WWE rings?

The 2016 Cruiserweight Classic is still one of the greatest tournaments in WWE history. 32 stars from across the globe got to showcase their unique styles, competing for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship.

What made this tournament one of a kind was that out of the 32 competitors, only a small handful were already signed with WWE. This meant that the majority of the athletes were competing under the WWE banner for the first time.

This included TJ Perkins, who had a difficult path to the final. After making quick work of Da Mack, the following rounds saw TJP defeat NXT wrestlers Johnny Gargano and Rich Swann. In his semi-final match, Perkins scored a big upset, eliminating the tournament favourite, Kota Ibushi.

TJ fighting the odds wasn’t the only compelling arc during this competition. A desperate Brian Kendrick, believing this was his last opportunity in WWE, ensured victory by any means necessary.

Even the first round was unmissable, with Gargano facing Ciampa for the first time in WWE. It’s unlikely we’ll have another WWE tournament that reaches the heights of the CWC. Luckily, you can relive the entire tournament in just under half a day.

When Rollins, Reigns, and Ambrose debuted in the main event of Survivor Series 2012, they made an impact. Over the next year and a half, The Hounds of Justice became the most dominant faction in WWE.

Rollins, Reigns, and Ambrose became unstoppable. Many combinations of athletes took the opportunity to attempt to take them down. The Shield defeated past and present stars of  WWE, as both a duo and a trio.

Their six-man bouts, whoever they faced, were some of the most entertaining matches of the year. With Moxley moving to AEW, another Shield reunion seems unlikely. This series of matches show why they were so beloved.
