10 most insane moments of Jeff Hardy’s career

10. Swanton off the production truck – One Night Stand 2008

Jeff Hardy and Umaga had a series of matches throughout 2007-2008 which culminated with a Falls Count Anywhere match at One Night Stand 2008.

The match was really fun and featured a lot more creative spots than an average Falls Count Anywhere match. Hardy slid down a handrail in an arena stairwell, hit Umaga with a pylon and sprayed Umaga with a fire extinguisher, leaving the Samoan’s head with a frosty coating.

The action spilled out into the parking lot, which may not have been exciting for the live audience, but was fun for everyone else. The match climaxed when Hardy climbed the ladder of one of the WWE production trucks, Umaga attempted to follow him only to be kicked down to the “concrete” below (there were crash pads set up behind a set of crate to break their falls), and Hardy finally delivered a Swanton Bomb from the top of the truck to Umaga down below.

Jeff Hardy would pick up the win and continue his 2008 run which culminated with winning the WWE Championship in December.

9. Jeff Hardy breaks his brother – Impact Wrestling, April 19th, 2016

The match that started a universe. The on-screen relationship of Matt and Jeff Hardy could be described as dysfunctional to say the least, and their 2016 rivalry was the beginning of perhaps the most successful run of their careers.

Matt and Jeff Hardy did battle in an “I Quit” match after they were both unable to win the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, and there would be no winner as both men would be taken out of action by the latest stunt in the career of Jeff Hardy.

Jeff choked out his brother and laid him across a table near the stage before climbing a part of the set to deliver a Swanton Bomb and incapacitate himself and Matt. The match was ruled a no-contest as neither man was able to continue but the repercussions would be felt for years afterwards.

The move would break Matt Hardy and just a few weeks later he would debut as “Broken” Matt Hardy, a character that would take the wrestling world by storm. The “Broken” Hardys would go on to win the TNA World Tag Team Championships, the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championships, and even the Raw Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania 33.

8. Swanton knocks Spike Dudley unconscious – WrestleMania X-Seven

WrestleMania X-Seven is regarded by most as the greatest WrestleMania of all time and one of the contributing factors to that is the car-crash spectacle that is TLC II.

The Dudleys attempted to defend their WWF World Tag Team Championships against the Hardys and Edge & Christian in the final match of the trilogy of ladder/TLC matches that the three teams had participated in. It was a demolition derby of carnage, and one of the highlights of the match was one of Jeff Hardy’s craziest Swanton Bombs of his career.

Hardy set up a ladder in the ringside area as Spike Dudley and Rhyno had been laid across a pair of tables below. Hardy took a moment to soak in the cheers from the Houston crowd before diving onto both men with a devastating Swanton Bomb. Only one of the tables broke and Spike Dudley was knocked unconscious by the impact.

It was a dangerous spot from Hardy but it would not be the move that took him out of the match for good.
