10 MUST-SEE Undertaker Career Moments

3. End of an Era

When The Undertaker defeated Triple H at WrestleMania XXVII he did not do it handily. Triple H had come away the loser but ‘The Deadman’ had come away beaten. One year later, The Undertaker wanted to prove that he could beat Triple H at WrestleMania properly. With Shawn Michaels assigned as the special guest referee, this match was dubbed the ‘End of an Era’.

The match was excellent, with all three men working to tell a dramatic story. When Undertaker finally defeated Triple H, he and Michaels carried ‘The Game’s carcass to the top of the stage and they all embraced. As the streak had reached 20-0 there was a thought that this was the end of their careers. Instead, they all continued to wrestle until at least 2018. Oops.

2. Is This Goodbye?

If The Undertaker is to be believed, he has hung up his boots for good. If that is the case, then the Boneyard match at WrestleMania 36 will go down as his retirement match. It would be a hell of a match to go out on. He has discussed how he felt jealous of Shawn Michaels having retired after two great performances at WrestleMania XXV and XXVI, now he has the opportunity to go out on top.

AJ Styles has mentioned that if this is the end he is honoured to have been The Undertaker’s last opponent. Again, if this is the end, this match will go down as a historic one.

1. An All-Time Classic

When people are asked what The Undertaker’s greatest match is, many will point to this match. At WrestleMania XXV, he and Shawn Michaels put on an all-time classic. There are very few complete matches on this list but this one is good enough and special enough to stand on its own.

To many, this was a generation-defining match. Their match together remains the all-time favourite of many WWE stars and fans, and rightfully so. If The Undertaker has really said his final goodbye, you can bet this match is going to be referenced in his Hall of Fame speech.
