North American Champion vs. United Kingdom Champion, the original Winner Takes All.
In 2018, it seemed like nobody could dethrone Pete Dune as UK Champ. Ricochet accepted a challenge from the British star, the winner walking out with both titles.
With the theme of ‘anything you can do, I can do better’, both champions tested each other’s versatility. Dunne flew with the aerial titleholder, and Ricochet grappled with the mat specialist, producing this Match of the Year contender.
Whilst the ending is divisive, there’s no disputing that the 20 minutes that preceded it were magic.
2. Asuka vs. Ember Moon – NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III
Trust Asuka to make her Gold Brand Swan Song one of the best women’s matches in NXT history.
Over Asuka’s NXT tenure, she transformed from a resilient competitor to a cocky champion. Moon challenged at NXT’s largest show to date at the time, hoping to serve The Empress her first 1-on-1 defeat.
Matches like this have contributed to the prestige of the NXT Women’s Championship. Both athletes have stated that they want a rematch, after watching this, you’ll feel the same way.
1. Kevin Owens vs. Finn Balor – Beast of the East

Before he adopted the name Bálor, Finn honed his skills in The Land of the Rising Sun. It was fitting that The Demon received a title match in a building where he dreamed about winning gold.
Battling the disrespectful champion Owens, both competitors gave the Sumo Hall audience a fight to remember.
After covering his body in Kanji characters, Bálor fought like a hometown hero. The champion, willing to do anything to retain, trash talked Finn until the crowd were in a frenzy.
In the five years since this bout, both men have ascended to the top of the WWE mountain. If you’re looking for an exciting match with an electric crowd, look no further.
