10 Potential Challengers For Universal Champion Braun Strowman

Kofi Kingston

We all know the story of Kofi Kingston by now. He worked his way up from being in the midcard for 11 years to winning the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35, enjoying a six-month reign, then losing it in a seven second match to Brock Lesnar.

After John Morrison escaped with the SmackDown Tag Titles at WrestleMania this past weekend, theoretically New Day and the Usos should be out of that picture for now.

If the idea is for Reigns to dethrone Strowman, turning Strowman heel, or at least trying to, would seem like the best plan, and retaining his title over Kingston would probably go some way to doing that.

Brock Lesnar

Well we mentioned him just there, and yes he may be a Raw guy technically, but let’s face it, such rules don’t really apply when it comes to Mr Lesnar.

I would not bet against WWE having Lesnar beat Strowman for the title, then having Reigns beat Lesnar. That seems like something that would suit the already mental lineage of the Universal Championship.

People probably wouldn’t like it, but people didn’t like Goldberg winning it, and then people didn’t like Strowman winning it, and here we bloody are.

“The Fiend” Bray Wyatt

The man, or, well, Fiend, that lost the Universal Championship to Goldberg at Super SaudiDown Show is probably gonna want to get it back at some point.

On top of that, you also have to believe that Strowman is on his list of targets anyway, given that The Fiend has generally gone after people who played a part in Bray Wyatt’s past.

The likes of Finn Balor, Daniel Bryan and most recently John Cena are all examples of this, and of course Strowman was introduced to WWE as a member of the Wyatt Family.

It pretty much all writes itself and wouldn’t be hard to set up at all. Just be ready for the inevitable backlash regarding the finish, as is customary with Fiend matches, it seems.
