10 Raw Underground Dream Matches That Could Happen

7. Aleister Black vs. Chad Gable

Chad Gable has just turned heel. With a chance to update his image, allow us to ditch to asinine Shorty G monicker in favour of a more serious character. Gable’s resume as an amateur wrestler is impressive and should be taken seriously. The timing of this makes too much sense not to see Gable step into Raw Underground to show how tough he really is.

Opposite him, why not have the most serious man on the roster? Aleister Black’s style would lend itself to a shoot fighting scenario, as his kicks are as lethal as they come. Black’s striking and Gable’s grappling would be a great blend of styles and it would allow both men to step up in an environment that could benefit them both.

6. Karrion Kross vs. Kevin Owens

Fight Owens Fight? Well, here is your chance, Kevin. Owens has been directionless since WrestleMania, just kind of existing on Raw. He has been one of the best brawlers in pro wrestling since his time in Ring of Honor. This grungy underground setting would also fit a star like him. Who could he face? Why not the most vicious man currently in NXT?

Karrion Kross has been beyond dominant since arriving on the scene in NXT and what better way to show just how much of a killer he can be than by having a rough and dirty fight? Kross is still a new face so this could be a way to build on his aura without him wrestling too many matches.

5. Kyle O’Reilly vs. Pete Dunne

Many fans of NXT know and love Kyle O’Reilly for being the wacky, air-guitaring goofball of Undisputed Era. While he is that and has done excellent character work in NXT, it must be said that O’Reilly can be as badass as they come. His matches in New Japan Pro Wrestling, PWG, and Ring of Honor are example enough. He may not be a shooter, but he wrestles like one.

On a similar side of things, Pete Dunne is a no-nonsense brawler more than capable of having a fight. While the two have had more than their fair share of tag team matches, they have only battled one-on-one once, back in 2018. These two are phenomenal and could be perfect choices to put on a blowaway performance together in Raw Underground.

4. Samoa Joe vs. WALTER

Samoa Joe has never claimed to be a fighter but anyone who knows him will tell you he is a tough son of a gun. Another of wrestling’s best brawlers ever, Joe came out from behind the commentary desk this week. If you want to reintroduce him, do it in Raw Underground. Not many people would be looking to try and step up to Samoa Joe, but why not have another brawler who is even bigger try to be the one to take on Joe?

Enter WALTER. The Ring General is one of the most unique performers in wrestling and would be another cut out for something like this. WALTER is currently stuck in Europe as a travel ban has kept the NXT UK roster from competing in the United States. However, if this concept sticks maybe it will last long enough to see WALTER clash with the Samoan Submission Machine.
