10 Raw Underground Dream Matches That Could Happen

3. Matt Riddle vs. Timothy Thatcher

Timothy Thatcher and Matt Riddle have already gone toe to toe this year. The two fought in NXT’s Fight Pit match, which in some ways appears to be the precursor to the Raw Underground concept. However, who wouldn’t want to see them go at it one more time? Riddle is an accomplished UFC fighter and Thatcher continues to show he can hang with the toughest shooters in the game.

Last time they didn’t have ropes, this time they won’t even have a ring. The Fight Pit still had a bit of a sports entertainment feel to it as Riddle dove from the top of the cage. If done right, a fight in Raw Underground would be just that, a fight. These two already have history and a strong disdain for one another. Just let them loose and watch them go.

2. Ronda Rousey vs. Shayna Baszler

It remains to be seen if Ronda Rousey will return to WWE at departing from the company at WrestleMania 35. There have been rumblings of a return but nothing has materialized as of yet. If she does choose to return to the promotion, a dream match awaits with fellow mixed martial artist Shayna Baszler. The two most successful wrestlers of the MMA Four Horsewomen, they would be the two ideal female participants to clash in Raw Underground.

If you want a legitimate fight feel, the way to do it is with the most believable fighters. Amongst the women in WWE, there is no question these are the most believable fighters. It doesn’t seem super likely that Rousey would return during this pandemic but if this concept lasts we could see her step up to her friend.

1. Bobby Lashley vs. Brock Lesnar

Similar to how Rousey and Baszler are the two most believable women in WWE for this concept, these are the two most believable men. Brock Lesnar is a UFC Champion, NCAA Champion, WWE Champion, and undeniable badass. While Bobby Lashley doesn’t have quite the resume Lesnar does, among WWE performers there are few who could step up to Lesnar more believably than Lashley.

It is highly unlikely that Lesnar would return for a fight on Raw. This means that Raw Underground would need to be built up to the point that they could put a significant match like this on pay per view. Not impossible, but it would take some work. Lashley wants to fight Lesnar badly, this could be the chance.
