3. Scorpio Sky Appeared as a Firefighter – SummerSlam 2013
Many people remember Scorpio Sky’s WWE cameo appearance as ‘Harold’, an anger management participant in the Team Hell No storyline in 2012.
However, some may not know that he also appeared at SummerSlam in 2013. These SummerSlams took place in Los Angeles, the backyard of the SoCal Uncensored member.
As such, he appeared as a firefighter during the show. Kane and Bray Wyatt took part in a ‘Ring of Fire’ match and Sky was dressed as one of the attendants.
Luke Harper and Erick Rowan had to steal the firefighting equipment to get in the ring. Sky could be seen at ringside during the match and now you can see him competing on AEW Dynamite.
2. Edge’s Comeback was set in Motion – SummerSlam 2019
One of the highlights in all of wrestling for 2020 was the return of Edge. The WWE Hall of Famer had not wrestled in nine years but advances in medicine allowed him to make his way back to WWE.
Of course, the comeback was really started back at SummerSlam 2019. With the event taking place in Toronto, Edge emerged to deliver a spear to Elias who was badmouthing his hometown crowd.
This was the first offensive move he had done since his retirement and many began speculating that a return could be in the works.
Sure enough, Edge was getting tested to see if he could be cleared. Just a few months later, the world saw the official return of the Rated R Superstar.
1. Sasha Banks was Hired the day before the Show – SummerSlam 2012
One of the most important people in the advancements of women’s wrestling in WWE has been Sasha Banks. Her work in NXT was a big part of people being forced to take women’s wrestling seriously in WWE.
Years prior, Banks signed her deal on the eve of SummerSlam 2012.
Although Banks was a mere 20 years old, WWE clearly saw something in here. Sure enough, her potential has continued to shine through as she climbed her way through the NXT system and made her impact on the main roster.
Three years later, Banks made her SummerSlam debut in 2015 in a Triple Threat tag team match.
