10 WWE Wrestlers Who Would Benefit From Going Down To NXT

10. The Revival

It’s a shame how bad tag team wrestling is on the main roster. If you’re not in the title picture then you essentially mean nothing. Hell, if you’re in the tag title picture then you still mean nothing in the company.

Tag team wrestling is a strong art form that’s massively unrepresented in WWE. The company doesn’t seem to try to put time in crafting characters or feuds that would get acts over. The company’s definition of a tag team feud seems to be various combinations of the two feuding tag teams wrestling one another each week.

Tag team wrestling can be money. Whether you love them or hate them, The Young Bucks have proven this. However, it’s not due to those two just going out there and wrestling matches without meaning. One of my favorite tag team matches of the year is The Golden Lovers vs. The Young Bucks at Strong Style Evolved. This match wasn’t about spots – though there was plenty of them – if was about the story of the deteriorating relationship between the Bullet Club members.

Arguably my favorite tag team feud in 2018 was LAX vs. The OGz. While it did get cartoonish at times and the final match wasn’t the hot payoff it could’ve been, these two teams have been feuding for most of 2018 and crafted a story that kept me hooked most weeks. And the crazy thing is, these teams barely met in the ring outside of pay-per-view matches.

It’s puzzling that Vince doesn’t see money in tag team wrestling especially when teams like The Revival exist on your roster. Granted, their debut on the main roster was plagued with injuries, but back in NXT, these two were fantastic old school heels who had compelling feuds with American Alpha, DIY, and during their brief babyface turn in the final months in NXT, Authors of Pain.

The reason that the Revival needs to go back down to the developmental system is due to their horrendous booking on the main roster. They need to be re-established as a credible team and having a return run down in NXT for a year can definitely heat them up again. Hopefully Vince will change his view on the talented duo and give them the spotlight that they deserve.
