10. The Young Bucks vs. The Hardys – ROH Supercard of Honor XI
The Young Bucks had come into their own as two of the top stars in wrestling by 2017. They had risen to the top of New Japan Pro Wrestling and Ring of Honor just in time to be challenged by their predecessors. The Hardys were the Young Bucks of an older generation and finally the two teams were able to clash.
At Supercard of Honor XI, the two teams engaged in a Ladder Match. This was NOT a tame Ladder Match. Considering this was the night before the Hardys returned to WWE, you could expect them to take it easy. They did not. This was one of the best Ladder Matches in recent memory and a fantastic passing of the torch from one high-flying team to the next.
9. The Young Bucks vs. The Lucha Bros – AEW Double or Nothing 2019
The Young Bucks’ first match for AEW was one of the very best tag team matches of 2019. The only problem is this was overshadowed by their Ladder Match at All Out. Pentagon and Rey Fenix are perfect opponents for Matt and Nick Jackson and they proved it once again at Double or Nothing.
While their match at All Out was more insane, this was a straight-up wrestling match. And what a match it was. This was the perfect opposite to the old-school Cody vs. Dustin Rhodes match that preceded it. Apart from it being a truly fantastic match, it is also a historic moment as the top tag team in the world staked their claim on their new home.
8. The Young Bucks vs. Time Splitters – NJPW Dominion 2014
The junior division stole the show at Dominion 2014. Kota Ibushi vs. Ricochet was lights-out incredible later in the evening but the Young Bucks and the Time Splitters opened the show with an incredible performance. Alex Shelley and KUSHIDA were a great team and were a little more grounded than the Bucks, allowing for a seamless mesh of styles.
This match saw Nick and Matt Jackson hit each other with many of their moves by accident, ultimately leading to their demise. The Time Splitters were able to stay on the same page for the whole match, which allowed them to submit Nick Jackson to win the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships. This match is worth paying for NJPWWorld to see, trust me.
