11 Best Celebrity Wrestling Matches Ever

8. Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Lawrence Taylor (WrestleMania 11)

While it definitely is not worthy of being a Mania main event, this match makes lists of the best celebrity matches across the internet because of one thing: Just how strong Bam Bam made a visibly blown up Taylor look (and Taylor didn’t embarrass himself.)

The important thing was Taylor hit all of his cues and it led to a highlight reel second rope forearm smash and the win over Bam Bam. Despite the loss, Bam Bam was only in the company for a year, making this his sole WrestleMania moment, and by making LT look believable, Bigelow earned plenty of respect. By extension, WWE got some mainstream press during the glory days of 80s and 90s football.

7. Stephen Amell & Neville vs. Stardust & King Barrett (SummerSlam 2015)

For a first-timer, the ways in which Amell is protected are obvious as this is a tag match and the veterans of course do a lot of the work. Amell gets involved with Stardust pretty early as they were feuding at the time.

Amell gets a pop for springboard jumping into the ring to kick things off, bounces back from a shove with a kip-up for another pop, and surprises everyone with a well-executed boot and hip tosses to Stardust. Amell sells perfectly in the underdog role, leading to a come-from-behind finish– a crossbody to the outside before Neville hits the Red Arrow to win.

The result was a friendship with Cody Rhodes, an even better follow-up match on this list, and respect from both wrestlers and fans.

6. Shaq & Jade Cargill vs. Cody Rhodes & Red Velvet (AEW Dynamite)

Yet again I find myself praising a celebrity because they were a wrestling fan as a kid and respect it, as is the case here.

Shaq works as a big man should and shows his fandom as he honors Brodie Lee during a powerbomb to Cody. He’s also not afraid to sell because he knows it’s a show. His ending bump through two tables helped bring mainstream eyeballs to a new company, which is the point of several of the matches on this list.

AEW’s women’s division shined throughout thanks to the ladies involved with Jade Cargill looking like the strong prospect she is, picking up the pinfall.
