WrestleTalk Wrestler of the Year (Male): Kenny Omega
- Kenny Omega
- Seth Rollins
- Tommaso Ciampa
No one combined great storylines with as many great matches in 2018 like Kenny Omega. Omega began the year with a certified dream match with Chris Jericho at Wrestle Kingdom 12 where he was victorious. Following that match, Omega reunited with his longtime friend and rival Kota Ibushi. This sparked the Bullet Club Civil War that set The Golden Lovers against the Young Bucks, Cody, Hangman Page, and Marty Scurll.
Despite the internal conflicts within Bullet Club, Omega was able to defeat Kazuchika Okada to win the IWGP Heavyweight Championship in what some have called the best match of all time. Omega would reign throughout the remainder of 2018, and produce an amazing performance in the G1 Climax.
Kenny Omega was the complete package in 2018. He had more match of the year candidates than anyone and did so as IWGP Heavyweight Champion. Hats off to you, Kenny, Wrestle Kingdom 13 cannot come quick enough.
