Buddy Murphy vs. Local Competitor
A pre-taped backstage segment aired before this match, showing Buddy Murphy’s weigh-in. Luckily for Murphy (and 205 Live), he weighed in at 203.9 lbs. He said to General Manager Drake Maverick that he wanted his title shot, before walking away.
In the ring, Murphy mowed down a jobber, courtesy of several brutal powerbombs. Unsatisfied with a simple pinfall victory, Murphy was set to inflict more damage until the referee stepped in to stop the match.
Result: Buddy Murphy def. Jobber via referee stoppage.
Murphy looked like an absolute beast here. Even though we are in the early stages of Cedric’s title reign, I wouldn’t mind seeing Murphy take the championship from him.
After the match, Cedric Alexander came down to confront Murphy. The two brawled on the ramp until Buddy escaped backstage. It certainly does seem like Murphy is the next challenger.
