4. Emma had no idea where “Emmalina” was headed (Killing the Town)
One of the biggest flops of WWE’s in 2017 was the “Emmalina” character. Months of endless vignettes promoted the transformation of Emma from mild-mannered female grappler to out-and-out sex-bomb, some sort of modern-day Sable. When “Emmalina” finally arrived, the reset button was instantly hit, rendering months of promotional time moot.
Tenille Dashwood, the former Emma, appeared on Lance Storm and Don Callis’ Killing the Town podcast, where that stretch of her career came up. By her own admission, Dashwood had no idea as to what the endgame for the Emmalina character was supposed to be, as she was apparently not made aware. She believes the gimmick wasn’t right for her, and that creative came to that conclusion, hence its abrupt scrapping.
