5 Future WWE Plans For Joe Hendry

5 Future WWE Plans For Joe Hendry WWE

On a week filled with very buzz-worthy WWE news, the NXT debut of Joe Hendry has stood tall as a major success.

Despite never before featuring on a stage as large as WWE in his 11 year career, Hendry’s viral success aided by his unlikely crossover to mainstream chart music, has seen him become a favorite amongst fans the world over.

The pop he received from the crowd inside the WWE PC told the full story, and that combined with the massive social media numbers his debut has been pulling in is sure to lead to more WWE plans to come for the Scottish star.

But what will those plans be exactly? Let’s run through some potential options.

5. Challenging Trick Williams For The NXT Championship

WWE NXT Champion Trick Williams

It seems pretty clear that Hendry is only scratching the surface on WWE NXT.

Given the numbers that his debut has pulled in one could imagine they’d want him back through the curtain again at the first available opportunity.

And when they do, you’d think that the temptation could be there to thrust Hendry into the biggest spot available – the NXT Championship and its holder Trick Williams.

As seen with Jordynne Grace at Battleground, Shawn Michaels is not afraid to put a TNA talent in as a challenger for a WWE NXT championship, so it’s certainly a possibility.

At present the number one contender for Trick Williams at Battleground is technically Je’Von Evans, however, it seems like a four-way with Ethan Page and Shawn Spears may be on the cards instead.

Given there’s already a multi-man situation there, it can’t harm throwing Hendry into the mix too right? Well, even if it doesn’t come to be, at some point you’d think Hendry could be challenging for the top prize on Tuesday nights.
