5. Dog Collar Match
In 2019 WWE attempted to bring back the Dog Collar Match in a feud between Roman Reigns and Baron Corbin.
However, in true Vince McMahon fashion, way too much emphasis was put on the term ‘dog’.
The actual premise of a dog collar match is that the competitors are unable to escape from each other as the dog chain pulls them back together over and over again.
The brutality that ensues during such a match is the true eye-catcher. It does not get much more intense than a dog collar match.
With AEW and ROH, two big promotions have already had big dog collar matches in recent times. WWE might follow suit next year.
WWE did bring the Dog Collar match to NXT UK in a bout between Wild Boar and Eddie Dennis earlier this year, which could serve as a trial run for a main roster outing.
