WWE SmackDown’s men’s tag-team division is currently stacked, with its quality exemplified by the recent TLC ladder match between the Street Profits, DIY, and the Motor City Machine Guns on April 25.
Despite the quality of those teams and many others across Raw, NXT and SmackDown, the men’s and women’s tag team divisions could benefit from a shake-up and a refresh.
One way of doing this would be by putting new teams together – with many stars in need of new direction and opportunity.
Here are five new WWE tag teams to form soon:
5. Ilja Dragunov & Sheamus
One would be hard-pressed to find two performers more stylistically suited to team up than Ilja Dragunov and Sheamus.
With their hard-striking, stiff, no-nonsense, and intense styles, they are a perfect match.
Dragunov is currently out injured and it’s unclear when he will make his return, while Sheamus has only been used sporadically on television with his return also up in the air.
Teaming with the younger Dragunov could be the fresh injection Sheamus needs to reignite his WWE career, so hopefully we see these two Europeans mix it up when they’re both back on TV.
