There are perhaps no two factions in wrestling more popular, iconic, and similar, than the New World Order and Bullet Club.
One was a staple of 1990s WCW, while the other rules NJPW and ROH today, but there are a number of key similarities between the two legendary groups that transcend time and promotion.
Both are cool ‘heel’ stables that fans cheer for over their often-babyface opponents, both were formed by established good guys betraying tag team partners, and even the groups’ color schemes and hand gestures are the same. Just don’t tell WWE that, or they’ll sue.
The only issue with the two stables being formed almost 20 years apart is that we’ll never get to see them clash. However, this problem can be solved, as most things can, with fantasy booking on the internet.
In this list, I’ve included current members of the Bullet Club stable (both Elite and OG) and members of the NWO in WCW from its incarnation in 1996 to the moment it split into two different factions in 1998. I do not have the willpower to deal with the NWO post-split. Nobody does.
I’ve tried to balance in-ring abilities, gimmicks and the draw factor of the match while creating these bouts to make matches that would make sense and that people would want to see. This is my first foray into inter-era fantasy booking, so please be gentle in the comments.
Without further ado, throw some Superkicks and play that championship belt like a guitar, brother, because here are some fantasy matches that are just too sweet.
