5 NWO vs. Bullet Club fantasy matches we’d love to see

5. Curt Hennig (NWO) vs. Marty Scurll (BC)

Perfection vs Villainy; a recipe for a cracking match.

Hennig, known in the WWF as Mr. Perfect, was one of the best in-ring performers of his generation, capable of putting on a great match with almost anybody, evident in his legendary clashes with the likes of Bret Hart and Ric Flair.

As for the ‘Villain’ Marty Scurll, the Englishman is one of the fastest rising stars in independent wrestling. He’s already been ROH Television Champion and NJPW Junior Heavyweight Champion, and has shown his array of high-flying and submission-based skills against indie megastars like Will Ospreay, Zack Sabre Jr. and, more recently at All In, Kazuchika Okada.

Hennig could play the stoic veteran to Scurll’s cocky up-and-comer in a match pitting Hennig’s strength against Scurll’s agility, whilst challenging both men’s skills as technical specialists.

Scurll flying off the ropes to floor Hennig, Hennig powering through broken fingers to deliver a Perfect-plex, both men pushing each other to their limit to get the best out of one another. This match has “classic” written all over it.

Give Scurll another few years to hone his craft and maybe he can elevate another young star in a high-profile match like Hennig would have done for him. This is perhaps the closest we’ll ever get to seeing this match for real.
