5. Create A Legitimate Tag Team Division
The women’s tag team division has been ice cold since around the Golden Role Models era, and it really doesn’t have to be.
Several fans have accused Sasha Banks and Naomi winning the titles as ‘demoting’ the two women’s stars, when in fact, I think this is a good thing for all parties involved.
Sasha and Naomi will be featured on at least one show a week, and the titles seem important by proxy of being on one of the division’s biggest stars. They’ll never feel important if you see a top star holding them as a ‘demotion’.
The women’s tag team division consists of precisely two teams at all times; the champions and the chosen challengers of the week. Every other team ends up breaking up.
Build the division around Sasha and Naomi for a while, creating a legitimate group of contenders rather than just two thrown together singles stars. Call-up duos like Kayden Carter and Katana Chance or form meaningful pairings like Nikki ASH and Doudrop, and build the division around a solid core, because it exists, it’s just about finding it.
