5 Ways WWE Could Revive Its Women’s Division

I could just make a list of all the women WWE should be pushing. Though that would just consist of the usual suspects we have moaned about for years.

Instead, we’re going to list ways WWE can improve its product via the women’s division. Some of these ideas relate to the entire WWE roster while others are for the women specifically.

1) Stop Endless Feuds

Long term feuds focus too much on two wrestlers instead of the entire roster. Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch was basically SmackDown’s women’s division last year.

Flair and Lynch should have been used to elevate the division. Imagine if we saw Naomi beat Becky Lynch and face Charlotte Flair for the title. Sonya Deville turn face on Mandy Rose, beat Charlotte Flair and have a title match against Becky Lynch. Mandy Rose then beats Sonya Deville and goes on to face Becky Lynch.

These matches don’t have to end in new champions. Just beating Becky Lynch or Charlotte Flair elevates them to a title match level. Giving the audience something they haven’t seen before on last month’s pay per view.

2) Unify The Women’s Titles

The women’s roster is too thin to carry two singles titles and a tag team title. Even promoting NXT talent isn’t the answer as that would leave NXT pretty thin too.

Uniting the women’s division would mean the best of the best compete for the singles title. The rest can team up and use the tag team title as a way to get on the show.

Currently we have the IIconics, Kabuki Warriors and Fire & Desire as the tag team division. That’s not good enough. With more competition you can elevate the tag team title from it’s current state of irrelevancy.

3) Exclusive Women’s Wrestling Brand

Put the women on one show, Raw or SmackDown. Use them to promote the show as an exclusive quality. Doing this allows women’s wrestling to be pushed to the main event scene.

Having the four horsewomen on one brand hasn’t been done on the main roster. Add in the rest of the women’s roster and you have real competition to main event pay-per-views consistently. I believe it’s a risk worth taking.

4) Create Factions

The Riott Squad was a great idea when it formed. They just needed to compete for the single and tag team titles. They didn’t and they became irrelevant.

Imagine if the Four Horsewomen united and took over the women’s division. Natalya created a legacy faction with Nia Jax and Tamina. The UFC Four Horsewomen reunited in the WWE.

Stuff like that is a fantasy booking dream because it would be so fun to see.

5) Queen Of The Ring

Tournaments are great, they just are. WWE needs to bring back King of the Ring and introduce Queen of the Ring. Charlotte Flair is ‘The Queen’. Asuka is ‘The Empress’. Sasha Banks is the ‘Legit Boss’. Natalya is the ‘Queen of Harts’. Shayna Baszler is the ‘Queen of Spades’.

It just makes sense for WWE to have a Queen of the Ring tournament. It would be another thing to promote women as equal to the men, and would also put women on television and showcases their abilities, giving women the opportunity to prove they are ready for a push.

One tournament could revive the women’s division. What could an annual event do?
