On Sunday, August 24, AEW & NJPW are set to present the fourth annual edition of their crossover event, Forbidden Door from the O2 Arena from London, England.
With a month to go until the anticipated crossover event, only two bouts are currently set up for the card thus far.
Here are six potential changes still to be confirmed for the upcoming AEW Forbidden Door 2025.
6. Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Kazuchika Okada Confirmed
Considering that the pair have made plenty of magic together in the ring over the years – it may make complete sense to see them tangle once more at Forbidden Door.
With the match having already been announced as Hiroshi Tanahashi’s last in Europe, there are added stakes on this road to retirement for NJPW’s “Ace”.
After besting AEW International Kenny Omega at AEW All In Texas, AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada became the first ever AEW Unified Champion and does seem poised to defend that title against Swerve Strickland. However, given the history Okada and Tanahshi have, then it seems logical to hold off on that match until after Forbidden Door.
Alternatively, another intriguing option would be pitting two veterans of entirely different worlds against one another in Tanahashi taking on Cope at in London.
