Since Triple H, Nick Khan and TKO took over WWE, the company has undergone some significant changes to how they present premium live events.
From moving the PLEs from Peacock to ESPN Unlimited to the number of ads during the shows, it has been interesting to see the evolution of the company’s major shows.
With 2026 heading into the second half and 2027 on the horizon, WWE might have a few more changes that alter how fans see their premium live events even further.
Here are six potential changes to WWE PLEs under Triple H.
6. New Shows Added To The Schedule
Over the past few years, WWE has added a number of special events to their calendar.
The company reintroduced the WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event concept at the tailend of 2024, while their Clash events have become a signature every year.
New shows being added seems inevitable at this point considering some of the announcements that have already been made.
With the John Cena Classic in December to any number of new events that can come next year, WWE will be making some select additions to their lineup for major events moving forward.
5. Scheduling Changes Like Money In The Bank
On June 8, 2026 WWE announced that Money in the Bank 2026 had been moved from Sunday, September 6 to Saturday, October 10
At the end of 2025, WWE announced that Money In The Bank would not be taking place in the summer like it has in years past and would instead take place at the end of August.
Then, WWE announced that the event would take place at the beginning of September. However, this would once again change when the company announced MITB for October 10.
Seeing these changes for this event and how Money In The Bank went from a summer spectacle to taking place in the fall, there are other signature titles that could change their regular scheduled time of the year.
From WrestleMania going back to its early-April timeframe to other brands like Survivor Series or even Elimination Chamber happening earlier or later, these scheduling changes could totally alter the landscape of how the company tells stories.
4. Increased Star Power For Every PLE
Roman Reigns has been featured on WWE programming on a far more regular basis in 2026
At WWE Clash In Italy 2026, the company featured Roman Reigns defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Jacob Fatu in Tribal Combat and Cody Rhodes vs. GUNTHER for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
On the undercard, Brock Lesnar returned for the first time since WrestleMania 42 to face Oba Femi in a rematch, while Rhea Ripley and Jade Cargill had their own Mania rematch over the WWE Women’s Championship.
Considering this amount of star power on a non-big four show, it seems to point to WWE adding more legitimate draws to their premium live events moving forward.
When fans can see the likes of Reigns, Rhodes, Lesnar and CM Punk on almost every PLE, this will show WWE’s dedication to give the fans the biggest stars possible on their major events.
3. Women Headline More Often
Over the course of the past four years, WWE has had a number of noticeable improvements for the fans and the performers.
The women’s division is stronger than ever with the likes of Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan, IYO SKY, Sol Ruca, Fatal Influence, Jade Cargill and Tiffany Stratton playing pivotal roles on weekly WWE TV.
While the ladies have gotten some big opportunities, the promotion has not had their female stars headline a ton of shows since Triple H took over as head of creative.
With only two PLEs headlined in the past three years, it is a great time for Triple H and WWE to make a focus for the company to be giving the ladies more chances to main event their premium live events for the foreseeable future.
2. Head To New Countries For Shows
The past several years has seen WWE travelling to new countries for major premium live events.
Whether it be WWE Backlash going to Puerto Rico and France or their recent journey to Italy, the company has gone a long way to expand their global reach with big time shows.
Nick Khan has been on record several times to reiterate that the promotion would like to go to more new countries over the next few years.
Considering the trend that fans have seen in recent years, Triple H should have WWE go to places like Brazil, Mexico and beyond to make more history along the way.
1. Extending The Number Of Matches Per PLE
WWE PLEs have typically featured 4-6 matches under Triple H
One thing that fans have been pleading with WWE for when it comes to PLEs is more matches.
Over the past several years, Triple H has developed a five-match format for the premium live events that has drawn comparisons to his work in NXT.
However, this has meant a lack of opportunities for a variety of different names on the WWE roster right now.
After the recent report of ESPN asking WWE for more bouts on the Night of Champions card, fans might be able to expect more six-to-seven matches on PLEs for the future, helping to bolster these cards in a massive way.
