WWE
WrestleMania is always the conclusion of WWE’s year and the start of a brand new one in the fallout from the event.
This year’s WrestleMania 42 is shaping up to be two exciting nights of action that should blow off feuds and shape what will be seen on WWE TV in the weeks and months after.
Whether it be new stars arriving on the main roster or returning talent on Raw and SmackDown, these changes to WWE programming will alter how the landscape of the company looks moving forward.
Here are six potential changes to WWE TV after WrestleMania 42.
6. Sol Ruca & Jacy Jayne Called Up To The WWE Main Roster
Back at WWE Royal Rumble 2026, both Sol Ruca and Jacy Jayne appeared as entrants in the Women’s Royal Rumble Match.
While Jayne had a strong showing, Ruca lasted over 50 minutes and made it to the final three of the bout.
Meanwhile, Jayne has been at the very top of the NXT women’s division as a two-time NXT Women’s Champion. However, Jacy lost the title to Lola Vice in a three-way match with Kendal Grey at WWE NXT Stand & Deliver 2026.
Calling up both Ruca and Jayne will bolster the women’s scene on Raw and SmackDown, while allowing new stars to step up on the NXT brand.
5. Sami Zayn Heel Turn
In the leadup to WrestleMania 42, the reaction to Sami Zayn has changed quite significantly.
Once known as one of the most popular underdog babyfaces in the entire company, Zayn has started to receive loud boos from the audience.
On the March 27 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Zayn defeated Carmelo Hayes to win the United States Championship.
After this win and with the growing popularity of his WrestleMania 42 opponent Trick Williams, it would make sense to see Sami fully turn heel coming off the heels of “The Showcase of the Immortals.”
4. Rhea Ripley Moves To Friday Night SmackDown As New WWE Women’s Champion
At WWE Elimination Chamber 2026, Rhea Ripley defeated Tiffany Stratton, Raquel Rodriguez, Asuka, Kiana James and Alexa Bliss to win the Women’s Elimination Chamber Match to punch her ticket for a shot at the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 42.
Now set for a title bout against Jade Cargill, Ripley has made her way to Friday Night SmackDown over the past few weeks.
While she has been appearing on the blue brand, “Mami” is still a member of the Monday Night Raw roster.
Ripley moving to the SmackDown brand would be a logical move if she is able to defeat Jade Cargill for the title at WrestleMania 42.
3. Bianca Belair Returns
Following WWE WrestleMania 41, Bianca Belair has been out of action with a serious knuckle injury.
With a year on the shelf, “The E.S.T. of WWE” has started to train for an in-ring return following her surgery to recover from this injury.
Belair returning to WWE seems to be one of the most anticipated comebacks that could take place following WrestleMania 42.
Whether it be on Monday Night Raw or Friday Night SmackDown, there are a lot of different directions to take Belair upon her return with a variety of stars on the WWE roster right now.
2. Oba Femi Becomes The Newest Top Star In WWE Following Win Over Brock Lesnar
On the March 16 episode of Monday Night Raw, Oba Femi accepted Brock Lesnar’s open challenge for a match at WrestleMania 42 by laying out “The Beast Incarnate” with the Fall From Grace and a boot on his chest.
This will easily be Femi’s biggest match of his career and could totally alter his trajectory in the company moving forward.
Meanwhile, this bout may prove to be a tough test for Brock with Femi getting the better of him at every turn leading to Mania.
Oba defeating Brock could lead to “The Ruler” becoming the newest top star in WWE coming off the heels of “The Show of Shows” and position him in the main event picture on Monday Night Raw.
1. Roman Reigns At The Top Of WWE Raw As World Heavyweight Champion
At WrestleMania 42, Roman Reigns will challenge CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship in the main event.
Punk has been calling out his rival for being plastic and given everything in his career, while Roman called out “The Best In The World” for being old and past his prime.
A victory over Punk would properly place Reigns back at the top of WWE where he hasn’t been since 2024.
Reigns dethroning Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship would put him right at the top of WWE’s flagship show where fans could see him on every episode of Monday Night Raw moving forward.
