From former WWE Champions like Jon Moxley and Chris Jericho to other talent who have held mid-card gold like Claudio Castagnoli and PAC, former WWE titleholders have helped build the foundation of AEW.
Looking at the current free agent market, there are quite a few former WWE champions who could make their way to get a fresh start in their careers in Tony Khan’s promotion.
Here are six former WWE champions to potentially sign with AEW.
6. Raj Dhesi (Jinder Mahal)
Since being released from WWE in 2024, Raj Dhesi has started to make a name for himself back on the independent scene.
The former Jinder Mahal has had to reshape his image and reputation, doing just that by working anywhere he can from Game Changer Wrestling to Maple Leaf Pro.
The former WWE Champion surprised many fans by being able to capture the top prize in the company back in 2017, so he will have to do the same and impress to get a look from AEW.
Dhesi has had his interactions with AEW talent like HOOK in the past and could have an immediate role on the company’s programming if he does sign.
