Jeff Hardy (c) vs. AJ Styles – Intercontinental Championship
Jeff Hardy defeated AJ Styles this past Friday on SmackDown to capture the Intercontinental Title, but he didn’t do it all too cleanly.
Styles attacked Hardy’s leg earlier in the night, meaning he had to wear a knee brace. This came into play during the match as he purposely struck Styles with the brace and followed up by getting the win.
Given the circumstances under which Styles lost the title, even though he’s the one that Hardy to need a brace in the first place, he’s probably gonna want a rematch.
Dominik & Rey Mysterio vs. Seth Rollins & Murphy
This match happed on Monday’s Raw, but was cut short when RETRIBUTION attacked both Mysterios and there was no decisive winner.
It’s possible that Dominik and Rey might sell the assault and therefore not be on Payback, but a rematch with a proper winner seems inevitable.
And on top of that, you’d think Dominik’s first big win would come on pay-per-view, so unless we’re gonna wait at least another month, let’s get it this Sunday.
