On January 24, WWE will present their latest Saturday Night’s Main Event taking place from Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
With the event taking place just one week before WWE Royal Rumble 2026, there could be some notable matches that will set the stage for the first PLE of the year.
Whether it be number one contenders matches, rivalries being settled, or title showdowns, the January 24 WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event should be an intriguing show that could give fans a glimpse of what to expect at the Rumble.
Here are six matches to be potentially added to WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event before Royal Rumble 2026.
Undisputed WWE Championship #1 Contenders Match: Randy Orton vs. Trick Williams vs. Damian Priest vs. Sami Zayn

On the January 9 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, GM Nick Aldis announced four qualifying matches for the January 16 episode.
The winners of this match will do battle in a four-way bout on the January 24 WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event to determine who will face new Undisputed WWE Champion Drew McIntyre at Royal Rumble 2026 the following week.
Considering the matches announced and their recent interactions, it seems like Randy Orton, Sami Zayn and Trick Williams could all be involved in this contest to determine the new number one contender.
Coming off the heels of his win over Aleister Black in an Ambulance Match on the January 2 SmackDown, Damian Priest also feels like the favorite to overcome Solo Sikoa and join the field to fight for the right to get their opportunity at WWE Royal Rumble.
