5. Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams
Carmelo Hayes was brought into WWE SmackDown as a first round draft pick, and although things have started to pick up a bit more recently, he didn’t exactly hit the ground running straight away.
Meanwhile, Trick Williams is the top guy in NXT, and while his popularity is enough to justify a main roster call-up, it’s not an uncommon view among critics that his in-ring work needs some polishing before that can happen.
One solution to that particular problem though would be to reunite the two former allies as a tag team, because if they’re regularly having tag matches, Williams would be able to get by with that lack of in-ring polish because he literally wouldn’t have to do as much – he’d be a great hot tag guy after Hayes does most of the work and sells for whoever they’re against.
It just feels like both of them lack something that could make them main roster stars, but if you put them back together, they both kind of cancel out each other’s weaknesses.
