If anyone has the depth of history to take on a foe from New Japan Pro Wrestling in the main event of the inaugural AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view, it is absolutely Jon Moxley.

While the AEW x NJPW partnership has already created dream matches and shows no sign of stopping down when bringing fans highly entertaining wrestling matches, coming off the back of their World Champion CM Punk becoming injured so heartbreakingly soon into what was already dubbed the next coming of the ‘Summer of Punk,’ AEW needs to pick up the team win at Forbidden Door and have Jon Moxley bring back the Interim AEW Championship to the AEW locker room.

Continuing to mark their indelible presence in the overall industry of professional wrestling, a win for a highly credible and recognizable champion, cementing the supremacy of All Elite Wrestling as a brand (in at least this inaugural showing) would be a landmark occasion for Moxley and the company as a whole.
