6 Stars That Could Return At SummerSlam

6 Stars That Could Return At SummerSlam

SummerSlam is one of WWE’s biggest events of the year.

This year’s biggest party of the Summer is most likely going to be even bigger than 2021’s WrestleMania, due to the latter being held on reduced capacity earlier this year.

For sure WWE might have some surprises up their sleeves to celebrate their largest event of the year so far.

Who is potentially waiting in the wings? Let’s take a look at six potential returns to the big stage at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

6. Davey Boy Smith Jr.

Technically Harry Smith already made his return to WWE earlier this year in a dark match teaming with Austin Theory in July.

However, the former “David Hart Smith”, who previously worked for WWE between 2006 and 2011, is yet to show up back in front of cameras.

Smith is a former WWE Tag Team Champion and was actually the first to ever hold the infamous “Penny Belts” alongside Tyson Kidd in The Hart Dynasty.

Current plans for the son of the late great British Bulldog are widely unknown, however returning to SummerSlam, a show that his father helped to make famous, would be a nice touch.

5. Jeff Hardy

The charismatic enigma is still a widely popular star, who recently made waves once more by bringing back his old ‘No More Words‘ theme song.

On the same night, he also pinned current NXT Champion Karrion Kross, which did not go down as well.

Right after that he, unfortunately, tested positive for COVID-19, and had to be taken out of the loop.

A return in time for SummerSlam seems logical and could recreate that wonderful reaction Hardy received on Raw once more.

4. Randy Orton

The Legend Killer has been missing from WWE program for quite some time now.

Potentially, a return for SummerSlam could still be in the cards, as his Tag Team partner Riddle kept the plate spinning on Raw by continuing to feud with the Raw Tag Team Champions Omos and AJ Styles.

But who knows with WWE’s current booking of Raw, where Randy Orton ends and up and if he is even factored into the plans at all.

It would be rather questionable though, not to use a huge star like Randy Orton at one of their most popular events.
