This Wednesday sees AEW Dynamite celebrate its fifth anniversary, headlined by the highly anticipated match between Will Ospreay and Ricochet.
Much like they did with their debut episode back in 2019 AEW will be looking to make a splash, setting the tone for the next five years to come, and there is no better way to do so then pulling out some big surprises to get people talking.
Here are six surprises we could see at the AEW Dynamite fifth anniversary show.
6. ‘Switchblade’ Jay White Returns
After Juice Robinson and Hangman Page let fists fly during Page’s Lumberjack Match with Jeff Jarrett on Saturday’s Collision, a match was booked between both men for this Wednesday’s Dynamite.
With Swerve Strickland seemingly being moved onto a program with MVP, it seems like AEW are moving Page into something new also. Despite booking Page to face Juice Robinson, it seems likely that the meat of the feud will instead be with the top dog of the Bang Bang Gang: Jay White.
White has been out of action since July with a foot injury, but is reportedly nearing a return. A feud with Page would be a high profile spot for White, something that can hopefully set him on the path to the main event scene once again.
So, expect Switchblade to make the save for Robinson on Wednesday night, kicking off a potential program heading into WrestleDream.
