WWE WrestleMania 42 Sunday could offer some shocking moments that may just rock the foundation of the company moving forward.

Considering this will be the second night of the premium live event, the fans will expect the company to go all out in every way from the performances in the ring to some surprises throughout the night.

With titles up for grabs and feuds being blown off, there could be plenty of surprises that can have ripple effects on WWE throughout this year.

Here are six potential surprises at WWE WrestleMania 42 Sunday.

6. Sami Zayn & Trick Williams Double Turn

At WWE WrestleMania 42, Sami Zayn will defend the United States Championship against Trick Williams.

After capturing the US Title from Carmelo Hayes on the March 27 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Zayn has received louder boos from the audience who are upset with him swooping in at the last minute to get gold ahead of Mania.

Meanwhile, Williams has been one of the hottest new stars in WWE and usually garnered cheers from the fans every time he appears.

This has led to WWE teasing that a double turn could happen at Mania, so it should be interesting how the company makes Zayn into a heel and Trick into the babyface coming out of “The Show of Shows.”

5. Je’Von Evans Becomes The Youngest WWE Intercontinental Champion Ever

Another one of the newest stars on the WWE main roster who got called up in 2026 is Je’Von Evans.

“The Young OG” has an exciting in-ring style that has caught the attention of the WWE fanbase in a huge way.

Evans will challenge Penta for the WWE Intercontinental Championship alongside Rey Mysterio, Dragon Lee, JD McDonagh and Rusev in a six-way Ladder Match at WrestleMania 42.

“The Showcase of the Immortals” would be the perfect setting for Je’Von to get a career-making victory by winning the IC Title to become the youngest champion in Las Vegas.

4. Oba Femi Aligns With Paul Heyman After Defeating Brock Lesnar

After issuing an open challenge to anyone on the WWE roster for WrestleMania 42, Oba Femi emerged as the opponent for Brock Lesnar by delivering a Fall From Grace and placing a boot on his chest on the March 16 edition of Monday Night Raw.

Since then, Femi has shown absolutely no fear of Lesnar and physically dominated “The Beast” time and time again.

While Paul Heyman has been by Brock’s side for most of his career, the WWE Hall of Famer is no stranger to turning on his clients for the next big thing.

Seeing the writing on the wall, Heyman could choose Femi to align with next if he is able to defeat Brock on “The Grandest Stage of Them All.”

3. IYO SKY Betrays Rhea Ripley During Her WWE Women’s Championship Match With Jade Cargill

On the road to WrestleMania 42, Jade Cargill has called upon her former rivals Michin and B-Fab to help in her rivalry with Rhea Ripley.

This gave Cargill a distinct advantage against Ripley heading into their WWE Women’s Championship match at Mania.

However, IYO SKY reunited with Ripley to help “Mami” even the odds just a bit against Cargill’s new crew.

Despite their tight-knit bond with one another, IYO could be tired of playing second fiddle to Ripley and being left off the Mania card, so it could lead to “The Genius of the Sky” costing her friend the WWE Women’s Championship at “The Show of Shows.”

2. CM Punk Turns Heel To Defeat Roman Reigns

Heading into WrestleMania 42, things have gotten heated between CM Punk and Roman Reigns in their rivalry over the World Heavyweight Championship.

After invoking the name of Roman’s late father in a form of disrespect, Punk showed shades of his old self that fans have not seen in over a decade.

Since returning to pro wrestling for All Elite Wrestling in 2021, Punk has not been a heel and has been loved by the fans in a major way.

Now facing “The OTC” in his first singles match headlining WrestleMania, it might be the right time for Punk to turn heel and cheat his way to victory at “The Grandest Stage of Them All.”

1. The Usos Turn On Roman Reigns, Costing Him The World Heavyweight Championship

While CM Punk turning heel might be the best way for him to get the win at WrestleMania 42 Sunday, he could get an assist from an unlikely place.

During the feud between Punk and Roman Reigns heading into Mania, The Usos have been heavily involved at various points.

At one point, Punk reminded Jimmy and Jey Uso that their cousin has never apologized to them for years of mental, physical and emotional abuse he has put his family through as “The Tribal Chief.”

This could lead to The Usos wanting their true revenge on Roman by costing him the World Heavyweight Championship at “The Showcase of the Immortals. and making sure he will not become the tyrant he once was as the Undisputed WWE Champion.
