Tag team wrestling has seen a slight increase in attention and TV time throughout 2025 in the WWE.
Coming off the heels of the spectacular TLC Match for the WWE Tag Team Championships on the April 25 post-WrestleMania 41 edition of SmackDown, it would not be surprising to see a greater emphasis put on the division moving forward.
However, there are several different tag teams and stables that are on their way to be split up to create some new singles stars.
Here are six tag teams potentially splitting at WWE Backlash 2025.
6. A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory & Grayson Waller)

In what may be one of the longest tenured breakup angles in wrestling today, A-Town Down Under have been teasing a split for a little under a year.
Dating back to their time as the WWE Tag Team Champions, Austin Theory and Grayson Waller have been showing cracks in their foundation.
With Theory often finding himself a victim of Waller’s selfishness, this has caused the former United States Champion to lose matches and suffer numerous beatdowns.
After Theory being tricked into taking a beating at the hands of Sheamus on the May 5 WWE Raw, the Backlash 2025 show could see A-Town Down Under finally go their separate ways.
