WWE has placed greater emphasis on tag team wrestling in recent months — with SmackDown especially seeing improvement.

Historically however, WWE tag teams end in splits, with one partner pushed as a breakout singles star — think Shawn Michaels, Jeff Hardy, or Edge.

Right now, the company has no shortage of talented tag team wrestlers waiting to break out.

Here are six stars who have the potential to rise to the top as singles competitors.

6. Montez Ford

It perhaps seems unfair to pick between members of The Street Profits.

Both Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins have proven themselves as charismatic, talented performers with potential as singles stars.

That said, Ford’s high-flying offence – especially his breathtaking frog splash – sets him apart as one of the most spectacular athletes in WWE.

At 35, if the company are going to pull the trigger on a singles push for Ford, the time is now.
