AEW Dynamite Grand Slam saw the long-awaited debut of former WWE star MVP, interrupting Prince Nana and teasing the recruitment of former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland.
At the end of MVP’s exchange with Nana he would emphasise the word “business”, something many fans have taken as a tease for a Hurt Business reunion in AEW.
Cedric Alexander is reportedly locked into a new WWE deal, however, Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin are on the market and have reportedly held talks with AEW recently.
With the group a person down however, one must imagine a recruitment drive will take place, and there are plenty of names on the roster who could join up with the group when it debuts.
Here are seven AEW stars to join MVP, Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin in the new Hurt Business faction.
7. Swerve Strickland
It is evident by MVP’s AEW debut that his, and likely The Hurt Business’ first AEW program will be with former World Champion Swerve Strickland.
MVP is clearly seeking to recruit Strickland, however, due to his popularity the likelihood of that happening seems slim.
A feud seems likely instead, however, there is always the potential that MVP’s words do get through to Strickland and he leads this new version of The Hurt Business.
As popular as Strickland is, he does work best as a heel with this being evident most recently during his feud with Bryan Danielson leading into All In London.
An allegiance with MVP and ruthless betrayal of Nana would accomplish that turn to great effect.
