At one point in time the WWE NXT roster was arguably the best in all of wrestling, putting on consistently amazing pay-per-view events that still rank as all-timers in company history.
Along the way however, many stars who made their names in the gold brand would leave WWE’s doors for differing reasons.
With WWE in a different place in 2024, there may scope for some of the stars who departed NXT to return in the future, rediscovering their glory days in the brand.
Here are seven former WWE NXT stars who could return to the brand.
7. Malakai Black
AEW’s Malakai Black is a name that many bemoan Vince McMahon for not utilising properly on WWE’s main roster, and by properly we mean to the standard that Triple H set for him in NXT.
Black was a true force in the black and gold, becoming one of the brand’s very best NXT Champions of all-time, with an absolutely sick entrance and penchant for putting on bangers with anyone and everyone.
While he’s certainly had great matches in AEW, he’s not hit the heights we all thought he would for whatever reason and looks unlikely to ever break free from the trios division.
With his contract potentially up in 2025, it’s hard to imagine there not being WWE interest, and given that Black’s wife Zelina Vega is also in the company it seems doubly likely he may push for a return.
