All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has one of the most impressive tag team divisions of any pro wrestling promotion in the world today.

Whether it be to the men’s or women’s scene, AEW could add some duos to its tag team divisions to add further depth to the title pictures for both.

From multi-time world champions to independent standouts, AEW has room to bolster their tag team ranks in the weeks and months to come.

Here are seven new AEW tag teams to potentially debut soon.

7. Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley)

On April 24, WWE had its latest round of talent cuts that saw 29 wrestlers released from the promotion.

Among those names, The Motor City Machine Guns were two of the more prominent stars released from the company after just under two years into their contract.

Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley are still recognized as one of the greatest and most influential tag teams of their generation.

Considering they were reportedly offered AEW contracts when they were free agents in 2024, it would make sense to see The Motor City Machine Guns head to Tony Khan’s promotion now that they are available once again.

6. Violence Is Forever (Kevin Ku & Dominic Garrini)

The independent scene has a great deal of exciting tag teams that could work in All Elite Wrestling.

In various appearances for the company, Kevin Ku and Dominic Garrini have competed inside an AEW ring.

Known as Violence Is Forever, Ku and Garrini have made a name for themselves as one of the most cohesive and hard hitting pairings on the indies.

Bringing something different to the tag team scene, Violence Is Forever could mix it well with various duos like JetSpeed or The Rascalz in AEW.

5. The Mane Event (Jay Lyon & Midas Black)

One of the best East Coast tag teams on the independent scene today is The Mane Event.

Jay Lyon and Midas Black have established themselves as a premier tag team, most notably competing for House of Glory Wrestling.

With distinct characters and personas, The Mane Event are known for their unique style and innovative double team maneuvers.

Teaming with one another since 2018, The Mane Event feel like a pairing that would fit in nicely alongside the top talent in the AEW tag team division right now, such as Private Party, Gates of Agony and The Hurt Syndicate.

4. Pretty Empowered (Kenzie & Kylie Paige)

The National Wrestling Alliance has introduced several different female tag teams that have caught the attention of the fans.

Pretty Empowered are a group that has featured a number of different members, such as Ella Envy, Roxy, Kenzie and Kylie Paige.

The Paige sisters feel like a pair that can be an excellent addition to the newly introduced AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship picture.

Being champions in singles and tag team divisions, Pretty Empowered could become a duo that may be a threat to winning championship gold in AEW and make for formidable opponents for the current champions, Divine Dominion.

3. The Sea Stars (Ashley Vox & Delmi Exo)

Another independent tag team that has become a standout in every promotion it has appeared is The Sea Stars.

Ashley Vox and Delmi Exo have both established themselves as capable singles talents, but they have risen in prominence as a tag team in several different companies.

Appearing in promotions like MLW and SHIMMER, The Sea Stars have plenty of experience that would help to firmly bolster the AEW women’s tag team scene.

The Sea Stars competing against the likes of The Brawling Birds and Sisters of Sin would be the best way to solidify them as a pairing that could potentially capture gold in the future.

2. Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler

At AEW Revolution 2026, Ronda Rousey made a surprise appearance to confront “Timeless” Toni Storm following her match with Marina Shafir.

Rousey and Shafir are two of the MMA Four Horsewomen who made their names back in 2013 before transitioning to the pro wrestling world in 2016.

The first of the Four Horsewomen to make that move to wrestling is Shayna Baszler, who first started to compete in Japan before signing with WWE soon thereafter.

Now that both women are free agents, it would make sense if Rousey and Baszler signed with All Elite Wrestling together to join the AEW women’s division as a duo.

1. The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods)

On May 2, news circulated that Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of The New Day had departed WWE, after 20 years for Kingston and a 16 year stint for Woods with the company.

Kingston and Woods are often recognised as one of the greatest tag teams in WWE history and will now become two of the most sought after free agents in wrestling.

With there being a lot of speculation about the duo’s future, The New Day feel like a no-brainer signing for All Elite Wrestling.

Looking at the AEW tag team division, The New Day would be perfect opponents for the likes of The Young Bucks, FTR and Adam Copeland and Christian Cage after signing with the promotion.
