A new free agent that has just joined the open market is former NJPW World TV Champion Jeff Cobb.

After nearly six years with New Japan Pro Wrestling, the company recently announced his abrupt departure after recently winning the IWGP World Tag Team Championship alongside Callum Newman at NJPW Sakura Genesis on April 5.

This sudden exit comes off the heel of speculation and reports that Cobb was on his way to WWE after his name appeared on the internal roster.

At 42 years old, this seems like a “now or never” situation for Cobb to come into WWE where he could be an immediate player on the SmackDown brand.
